Roasted Cricket and Banana Oatmeal

I think we all get the feeling of wanting to switch up our morning routines.  We often find ourselves waking up at the same time or preparing our tea and coffee the same way.  It isn’t a bad thing, but sometimes we want to switch things up and try something new to get the morning started right with that burst of inspiration and energy.  Today, we decided to adding our Cricket Bites: Roasted Crickets to one of our favorite breakfast combos.

Growing up, whenever we would go traveling or go on a road trip I would always order banana oatmeal.  The freshly sliced bananas, warm steel cut oats, and a dash of cinnamon and brown sugar hit the perfect spot.  So this morning we decided to recreate that perfect combination.  This Cricket Flours recipe is super simple so just follow the directions below and enjoy!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 banana sliced
1 dash cinnamon
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Cricket Bites: Roasted Original

Directions:

  • Using your stove top, prepare the oatmeal according to directions.
  • Once cooked add in 1/2 sliced banana, dash of cinnamon, brown sugar to taste and then 1 tbsp of our edible insects from our Cricket Bites: Roasted Crickets for added cricket protein.
