Last week we sent out our Cricket Newsletter and we received sooooo many amazing responses! We asked for some feedback and insights into how you are using our edible insects, what did you like, what you would like to see, and what did you want to see more of.  So if you were one of those that responded we wanted to say thank you for taking the time and it was great to hear from each of you and we are going to be working on delivering on those ideas you were interested in.

One of the pieces of feedback that we received was that we hadn’t updated our protein comparison chart to tie in alternative sources of protein and some of our new edible insects – well, now we have!

Edible Insect Protein Comparison Graph

Introducing our freshly updated edible insect protein comparison graph that now includes edible insects like our roasted crickets, mealworms, and black soldier fly larvae.  And it also now includes protein comparisons from conventional sources such as beef, chicken, salmon, chickpeas, tofu, almonds, etc.

As you might expect, there is a lot that goes into make a decision into the type of food and ingredients we each consume. Whether those are sustainability reasons, pricing, availability, ethical reasons, etc. there are also other factors such as nutrition, minerals, nutrients, and more that of course must be considered when you decide to use one ingredient over another.

For this graph, we really wanted to break it down to the protein content because that was what was requested by our reader.  However, we will definitely be including more comparisons and graphs that will look at the nutrients, minerals, water use, etc. so stay tuned!
