Cricket Flour Spiced French Toast

This past week our team decided to revisit our Spiced French Toast recipe.  A delicious brunch staple, this french toast recipe is quick and tasty using a terrific blend of flavors including cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cricket protein, strawberries, and more!  Whether you are cooking for one or entertaining guests, french toast is an easy way to impress and even get added protein from the cricket protein, grains, and egg.  My personal tip to making perfect french toast is to make sure you fully soak each slice of bread and make sure the pan is fully warmed before starting.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

8 slices of bread
2 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp Cricket Flours: 100% Pure Cricket Powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 dash nutmeg
1/4 cup sliced strawberries
1 package Cricket Bites: Roasted Original

Directions:

  • In medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, cricket powder, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Wisk all ingredients together until fully mixed.
  • Taking a slice of bread, quickly dip each side and place in a slightly oil pan with the stove-top set to medium-high heat.
  • Cook each side for approximately 30-90 seconds, or until golden brown.  Finish by topping with sliced strawberries, roasted crickets, powdered sugar or your own blend of favorite toppings. Enjoy!
